I'M NEW HERE
WORDS FROM THE TEAM
Welcome! At FirstPres we welcome everyone – and we mean everyone! Located in the East Bay, we are a multi-ethnic, multi-socioeconomic, multi-generational, Christian community of faith where anyone can come as he or she is. We welcome every tribe, nation, language and people; whether you live in the hills, valleys or in your car; work in Silicon Valley or are on welfare, vote Republican or Democrat, are gay or straight, have a morally upright lifestyle or a loose one, sinner or saint. Come as you are! God loves you and we are so glad that you are checking out our missional family.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! You’ll find a list of commonly asked questions. Please don’t hesitate to send us a message or give us a call at 510-581-6203.
Here at FirstPres we will sing and worship in different languages and in different styles in order to express the following:
Hospitality – ALL BELONG!! We welcome all people from all cultures.
Solidarity – We stand with our brothers and sisters from different cultures and backgrounds. As we worship in multi-cultural styles we recognize that we are a global church and stand in unity.
Mutuality – We only truly understand the breadth of the Gospel as we learn from and serve each other.
How do I get there?
You can find our location on the map.
Where should I park?
We have two parking lots, one on Redwood Rd., right before the Trader Joe’s and one on Grove Way, shared with Trader Joe’s. Street parking is also available, but limited.
What should I wear?
Our church has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up, some dressed casual. We have no expectations for attire.
What if I have kids?
Our church provides Sunday school for infants – 6th graders every Sunday. For more information, contact our Children’s Ministry Director Terri Biondi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
